Swell Wellness
We are Swell Wellness. Two Chiropractic Physicians here to help you be beyond better. We integrate many forms of Physical Medicine — muscle, fascia, organ, joint and nervous system care — with holistic movement and strength training to enhance your health and performance from the inside out.
We offer care in our tropical practice at Sunset Beach or concierge care where we come to you.
Our Services
Every journey at Swell begins with a comprehensive personal evaluation. In this initial assessment we do a thorough full body assessment, diving deep into your history, injuries, biomechanics, movement capacities and nervous system state to fully understand you and your body.
We will work with you to craft a schedule that fits your body’s needs, goals and schedule — whether you come to us, or we come to you. Nothing we do is one size fits all, we will curate a care plan to enhance your vitality and quality of life together.
Our Specialties
At the core of our practice is a commitment to giving you the world class, holistic care you deserve. Here is a non exhaustive list of conditions we’ve dedicated thousands of hours of in combined education to serve you in.
Athletic Injuries and Prevention
Athletic injuries often result from repetitive strain, improper movement patterns, or overuse. Our focus in injury prevention is on understanding these underlying causes. Through biomechanical assessments and tailored chiropractic adjustments, we aim to improve joint alignment, muscle balance, and movement efficiency. This approach not only aids in the recovery from injuries but also helps to prevent them, reducing the risk of re-injury by enhancing stability and resilience during physical activities.
Sport Performance Optimization
Optimizing sports performance involves more than just strength and endurance; it requires a well-functioning musculoskeletal system. By addressing alignment, joint flexibility, and neuromuscular control, chiropractic care can help improve an athlete’s overall body mechanics. We assess and adjust key areas of movement, such as hip mobility and spinal alignment, to improve balance, coordination, and strength. This can lead to more effective movement patterns, faster recovery after exertion, and better overall athletic performance.
Natural Foot and Gait
Proper foot alignment and gait mechanics are fundamental to full-body health. Issues with foot structure or gait can cause a chain reaction of dysfunctions affecting the knees, hips, and spine. Our evaluation includes a thorough analysis of your walking patterns, identifying any misalignments or compensations. Through chiropractic adjustments, orthotic recommendations, soft tissue release and exercises, we work to correct these imbalances, promoting efficient movement and reducing the likelihood of injury and chronic pain.
Pelvic Floor Function
The pelvic floor plays a critical role in supporting the organs of the lower abdomen and in controlling bladder and bowel functions. Dysfunction in the pelvic floor can contribute to problems such as pelvic pain, incontinence, or lower back pain. We integrate chiropractic adjustments with pelvic floor rehabilitation techniques to help restore muscle coordination, improve core stability, and address issues related to childbirth, injury, or chronic strain. This comprehensive approach enhances overall pelvic function and quality of life.
Hypermobility
Hypermobility, characterized by a different molecular structure of collagen in certain individuals. It can cause not only an excessive range of motion in joints, leading to instability, joint pain, and frequent injuries, but also a plethora of other changes in bodily functions as your blood vessels and your digestion tubes are made of collagen, too! Dr. Lily herself is hypermobile and has learned how to optimize and strengthen this unique body composition. Adjustments are less likely to be helpful, so we focus on nervous system regulation through Network Spinal, promoting a clearer perception of your body in space (change in collagen changes your brain’s relationship to your joints) and gentle, osteopathic work to enhance your health.
Headaches / TMJ
Headaches and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders often originate from muscle tension caused by an upregulated nervous system, cranial tensions and postural compensations. By carefully assessing your whole body system’s relationship with your jaw, we can give you long lasting relief from the chronic discomfort of jaw pain.
Nerve and Spinal Pain
Nerve and spinal pain, often caused by conditions such as herniated discs, sciatica, or degenerative spinal issues, can significantly affect mobility and comfort. Chiropractic care focuses on relieving nerve pressure by restoring proper spinal alignment, reducing inflammation, and improving disc health. By using non-invasive techniques such as spinal adjustments and decompression therapy, we aim to alleviate pain, improve nerve function, and promote healing in the affected areas.
The Swell Promise
Your journey to long-term wellness is personal, and we’re here to support you along the way. Our goal is to ensure you receive the care that best fits your needs. If we ever feel that another approach or specialist would serve you better, we’ll gladly refer you, because your well-being is always our top priority.

EXCELLENT Based on 52 reviews Posted on Jon MeyerholzApril 29, 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dr. Baker was immensely helpful in correcting my paddle technique for surfing so as to alleviate all back pain. I can now surf regularly with no back or neck pain. Highly recommend a visit!Posted on Katie PretzlerMarch 13, 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My daughter Maria and I love working with Lily. Lily has been a tremendous help for my daughter after a long road back from illness and my journey back from a knee injury. Her knowledge in so many areas and practices of the body makes her a perfect compliment to any wellness/fitness goals you have. We are so blessed to have found her and John! We love you Lily!Posted on Jessica HiggsJanuary 25, 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dr. Lily is exceptionally knowledgeable in her expertise when serving her patients. She not only makes your body feel better, but she teaches you the skills needed to heal your body without her touch. She gets down and engages in the exercises alongside you. I have reported pain that she is unsure where it originated, so she has used her own body to mimic what I described, so she can find resolution, which she always did! Furthermore, I have experienced foot pain for at least 15 years now. I’ve seen many medical professionals to learn what I need to do to address the pain to no avail. Dr. Lily immediately targeted the discomfort, provided instant relief, and taught me exercises to strengthen my feet. She is gentle, kind, and has a good heart, which makes the experience all the more better.Posted on J ChristensenNovember 12, 2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dr. Lily is a true healer and I've always valued our sessions immensely! I highly recommend working with Dr. Lily for whatever ails you!Posted on jennifer loveOctober 19, 2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Impressive, fine tune attention to detail! I will recommend your services over and over again! I have practiced yoga for close to 30 years and always had a base amount of awareness and fitness; this coaching takes lifetime skills/ability and quickly chisels, refines and grows them to many paces beyond! I'm appreciating honing in on the areas I could not have known I was ignoring/forgetting/leaving out without your eyes and coaching. so much YES! Compensatory patterns and subtle mis-alignments grow to larger un-balanced states over time along with dysfunction and pain. Thank you for helping me refine and redefine exquisite movement and form! Friends, if you get a chance to be guided by Lily and/or John, you are doing yourself and your future self a huge service. Love it!Posted on Jessica KleinSeptember 24, 2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dr John worked with both of my sons, ages 15 & 19, during their off season from football. Not only did he help them improve their form for lifting and movement, but he also increased their strength, power AND reduced their pain from past injuries and bad movement habits. We are so appreciative of Dr. John's experience and interventions. My sons loved their time with him and highly recommend him to anyone seeking to improve their mobility and strength. Dr. John also easily connected with my sons on a personal level which made their sessions even more enjoyable.Posted on Kayla NeitzelSeptember 14, 2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Working with Dr. Lily has been a truly wonderful experience. She has a way of attuning to her patients and providing such unique and specified care to help them. She showed me exercises I could do at home to help strengthen the parts of my body that would then have a ripple effect on the other parts of my body that were hurting. She looks at things from a very wholistic perspective, which has been pivotal for my path to being in a healthier and stronger body.Posted on Bekah FisherSeptember 10, 2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dr. Lily Hoog-Fry has been immeasurably helpful to my recovery from a nasty lower back injury that had me suffering debilitating symptoms for over half a year before I left my previous chiropractor and visited her instead. Dr. Lily's approach of calming and refocusing the nervous system and coaching me in specific movements to train my full core to support the injured area (instead of seizing up around it, as it had been doing) was life-changing for me. She also has been hugely helpful with some foot and elbow pain issues that were beginning to be a problem. I am so sad she is leaving my area and moving to Hawaii, but our loss is your gain - do not hesitate to go to her with those back (or other body part) problems that you may think are just inevitable aging issues. She can help!Posted on Ariana ArevaloSeptember 5, 2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
